The New Triangle

John Sheahan, Damien Dempsey, and Declan O’Rourke @ Town Hall

IN 2013, during a speech launching, A Portrait Of A Dubliner, a documentary about his life and work, violinist John Sheahan remarked that "after 50 years I have decided it’s time to put a lid on the The Dubliners, but I think you'll all agree that with Damien and Declan, the future is in good hands."

Damien and Declan are leading Irish singer-songwriters Damien Dempsey and Declan O'Rourke, and both men have joined forces with Dubliners' legend Sheahan as The New Triangle, and they play the Town Hall Theatre on Monday October 5 at 8pm.

The trio recently closed Dublin’s newest and biggest Irish music festival, TradFest, in January. =In the lead up to the event, when asked what the group’s name would be, John Sheahan let it slip that they were affectionately calling themselves 'The New Triangle'. Their repertoire draws on a wealth of new material by all three, along with some of the greatest Irish songs that ironically influenced the two youngest from an early age.
