"POIGNANT LYRICS, beautiful songs… a band worth falling in love with", is how BBC's Across The Line radio programme described Derry quartet PORTS, who are coming to Galway to play Monroe's Live this Sunday at 8pm.
The band - Steven McCool (bass/vocals ), Mark O'Doherty (drums ), Ryan Griffiths (guitar ) and Conor Mason (piano ) - were formerly known as Little Bear, but have impressed many with their brand of melodic pop-rock, The Guardian calling them "excellent", while Dublinconcerts.ie said of them: "It feels like PORTS just stole the sunset and put it in a song."
PORTS released their debut album, The Devil’s A Songbird, last year, and this month they release the new single 'Gameplay'. They have enjoyed airplay on the BBC and RTÉ and have played Other Voices.
Tickets are €8. See www.monroes.ie
