Western Management Centre is starting the next evening employment law course at the end of September. The course is designed to enable participants gain an in-depth understanding of the legislative environment in which a business must operate and survive.
It provides an overview of the main elements of Irish and European employment legislation as it relates to both employers and employees. It also provides an understanding of employment law issues through a review and analysis of current legislation and case law and their application in the workplace. Other topics include employment contracts, equality issues including harassment in the workplace, termination of contracts and redundancy issues, health and safety concerns, and the effects of collective bargaining.
The course runs over 12 weeks and is accredited by QQI (FETAC ). It is relevant for business owners, HR professionals, supervisors and managers, or anyone in a working environment.
Other courses starting in September and validated by QQI are the award in public relations and the award in business management. Also running is APICS basics of supply chain management, detailed scheduling and planning, and execution and control of operations.
For anyone interested in a career in accountancy then the Certified Public Accountants (CPA ) classes will be starting in October. CPA is a globally recognised qualification and members work in all sectors of business and industry in a diverse range of roles.
