My Fellow Sponges, the acclaimed Galway folk-prog/indie band, return to the Róísín Dubh tomorrow night at 9pm to launch their new single 'Air.'
It is dedicated to Connor Cribbin and is being released as a fundraiser for Jigsaw Galway, a free, non-judgmental, and confidential support service for young people living in Galway city and county.
The single 'Air' reveals yet another side of My Fellow Sponges' ever changing sound. Featuring instruments such as piano, synth, saxophone, cello, and vocals, it creates a cinematic atmosphere with elements of trip-hop. Polish director Marta Barcikowska has devised the accompanying video for 'Air,' filmed in Connemara and now available on Youtube.
Support on the night will be provided by Aindrias De Staic and the Latchikos and the fabulous Steven Sharpe, also featuring special guests J Dog and Los Lasagne Y Patatas.
As well as promoting the new single, My Fellow Sponges will perform songs from the band's debut album Bonne Nuit and the recent Something Like Light EP, featured on the RTÉ Radio 1 Playlist.
Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
