Call for entries to Junior Film Fleadh

The Junior Film Fleadh, taking place from November 11 to 14, is looking for entries from filmmakers between the ages of seven and 18 for its future filmmakers short film programmes.

Today’s students are tomorrow’s filmmakers and, in addition to the mix of workshops, script competition, and panels, the Junior Film Fleadh wants to give them a platform to show their work on a big screen.

The only rules are that it must be under 15 minutes and have been made in 2014/15. A rough cut on DVD/link is totally fine at submission stage too, so you can have time to finish it off and get all those crucial special effects in there if selected.

Any genre/style from documentary, animation, drama, action, musical, comedy, sci-fi, and horror is acceptable. This year the Junior Film Fleadh, in partnership with the Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund (MMBF ), is delighted to announce its Rising Stars Awards for future filmmakers.

Prizes will be awarded for the winning short in the beginner filmmaker, teens/secondary filmmaker, and older teens/established young filmmaker categories. The winner of the last category will receive a certificate, €150, and the opportunity to work on a film set in the UK (if over 18 ) or attend a film festival in the UK. Travel costs will be subsided by MMBF.

Entry forms can be found at www.galwayfilmfleadh.com Closing date is Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
