Galway Family History Society West will next week host a family history lecture, entitled ‘Tracing Your Ancestors in West Galway’, as part of Heritage Week.
Learn about sources that exist for tracing ancestry in County Galway, and in particular west Galway, which constitutes an area of the county stretching from Dunmore to Kinvara and all areas west of this including Galway city. Attendees will also learn about the Galway Family History Society and researching family history using the website www.rootsireland.ie
The talk will take place on Wednesday August 26 from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in St Joseph’s Community Centre, Ashe Road, Shantalla, Galway. Admission is free. The event is wheelchair accessible and parking is available.
