Water Babies autumn term

Water Babies' autumn term starts the week of August 24 and the company is now taking bookings for classes. Classes take place in Galway in the Clayton Hotel, Salthill, Claregalway, Athenry, and Enable Ireland in Newcastle.

Water Babies is run by Jamie and Lisa Cobbe and currently teaches some 600 babies and toddlers per week in Galway, Sligo, and Mayo. The Water Babies' programme is designed to make the most of babies’ natural affinity with water. It teaches confidence and safety, using specialist techniques that see many swimming short distances from as young as 30 months.

Baby swimming is an entirely safe and gentle activity which helps parents bond with their baby while giving the baby a lifetime’s water confidence and safety skills. Swimming from birth stimulates brain and muscle development in babies in a safe, relaxed, way. Babies love the fun and freedom of being in water, and sharing this experience with your little one is one of the most exciting and rewarding things you could ever do. Using word association, movement, games and songs, Water Babies creates sessions that are informative and heaps of fun.

The Water Babies swimming course is different from traditional swimming lessons. Water Babies uses only warm water pools (30° or above ) so babies can join classes from birth and immunisations are not required in order to start classes. And while the emphasis is on having fun, the course is carefully structured. Each of the lesson plans is worked out to progress learning and understanding.

The main aim is to enable your child to be incredibly confident and happy in the water, right from the word go, in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for both parent and child. Baby beginner classes are suitable for babies aged between four weeks and 14 months.
