The Design Team for the construction of the Mental Health Campus on the site of the former Grove Hospital will be in place by early September, according to Cllr Seán Canney, a candidate in the next General Election in Galway East.
The development will consist of a Mental Health Day Hospital, Community Mental Health Team base and accommodation for staff working in Early Intervention Services (EIS ) and School Age Teams” said Cllr Canney.
“It is expected that in the following months, planning and design will be completed for the facility,” he added.
Cllr Canney is urging the HSE to speed up the procurement process as funding has been approved for this project. The cost of the project is estimated at €3.85 million.
“It is important that this investment is carried out in the shortest time possible as Mental Health Services are critical for this region” concluded Cllr Canney.
