Morley makes top ten

Oughterard golfer Devin Morley produced a super display to finish in the top 10 at the recent Connacht Under-18 Boys’ Championship.

Morley, who plays out of Oughterard Golf Club, was the top Connacht finisher at the championship with a four over par overall, and rounds of 73, 75, and 72.

The winner, Cairndhu’s Marc McKinstry, produced a remarkable display, finishing eight under par and eight shots ahead of Tramore’s Jack Hearn.

Louis O'Hara (Athenry ) and Paddy Culhane (Galway Golf Club ) shot 222, while Ross Kelly (Tuam ) finished on 223.

Morley is one of the seven players selected on the Connacht team to play in the interprovincials at Athlone Golf Club next week. Morley will be joined by Anton Brennan (Athenry ), Mikey Burke (Galway ), Michael O'Farrell (Galway ), Louis O'Hara (Athenry ) and David Brady (Co Sligo ).

The boys' u-16 team is: Paddy Culhane (Galway ), Ross Kelly (Tuam ), Liam Power (Bearna ), Harry Gillivan (Westport ), Allan Hill (Roscommon ) and Andrew Hickey (Ballyhaunis ).
