McInerney's SuperValu in Loughrea was recently announced as a finalist at the prestigious annual Checkout ‘Best in Fresh’ awards.
The Galway store was shortlisted for the Best Large Supermarket, with the award acknowledging the store's ongoing commitment to providing its customers with a fresh range at great value prices, while striving to support Irish suppliers.
Some of the biggest names in Irish grocery descended on The Shelbourne Hotel for the 2015 Checkout Best in Fresh Awards, the only annual event to acknowledge excellence in fresh produce retailing.
Some of Ireland’s most innovative multiples, independent stores, forecourts, delis and specialist outlets competed for the awards, and more than 250 retailers were present at this year’s event to celebrate outstanding industry achievements in the areas of fruit and veg, meat, dairy, seafood, bakery, and the myriad of other categories that comprise a winning fresh offering.

To celebrate, McInerney's Supervlau Loughrea is hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday (July 11 ) from 12 noon to 4pm. Special guests are Fireman Sam and Mininion. Acitivities include bungee run, quad car racing, rodeo cow, penalty shoot out arena, face painting, DJ, a barbecue, and lots more.
