RACKHOUSE PILFER, the stompin’ alt country, bluegrass band from Sligo, who have impressed American roots audiences as much as Irish music fans, return to Monroe's Live at midnight Friday July 17.
The band - Leon Mooney (guitar, harmonica, vocals ), Willie Kelly (guitar, drums, vocals ), Fiachra Cunningham (fiddle, Dobro vocals ), Mark McGovern (banjos, vocals ), Leslie Jones (mandolin, vocals ), and Hugh Feely (double bass, vocals ) - formed in 2012, won the 2015 Hotpress/Jaegermesiert Live Band of the Year Award.
Rackhouse Pilfer, whose influences include Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earl, Ryan Adams, and John Hiatt, have played Body and Soul, Omagh Folk Park Bluegrass Festival, and La Roche Sur Foron, Europe’s largest bluegrass festival. They have released two albums, Back To The Country, and last year's Love and Havoc, which featured guitarist Harold Bradley who recorded with Elvis, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash.
