HANNAH QUINN, daughter of renowned Irish film-maker Bob Quinn, will screen her debut short film, My Bonnie, in the Town Hall Theatre as part of this year's Galway Film Fleadh.
Shot off the Connemara coast, My Bonnie is about love on the rocks. Directed by Hannah, it is based on a play written by actress Liz Quinn - the director's sister-in-law. It features Liz in the lead and Tom Sullivan, who has appeared in Personal Development and Mechanic.
The film has already won an award for Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking at the Newport Beach Film Festival in USA. It was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and has three nominations for the upcoming Madrid International Film Festival - Talented New Director, Best Cinematography, and the Jury Award.
Hannah has worked for more than 20 years as an assistant director on films such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Children of Men, Song for a Raggy Boy, and The Canal.
