Corrib Community Music Scheme to make short film on its work

CORRIB COMMUNITY Music Scheme, Headford, has been selected by the Galway Film Centre, in partnership with Galway County Council and Galway City Council, as one of two community groups to make a short film about their activities.

This film project, which starts at the end of this month at the Headford Music Summer Camp, was entitled Music Works -Together in Time and will involve musicians, teachers, local actors, historians, and mentors from the Galway Film Centre.

CCMS, a group of musicians, teachers, and parents in the Headford area, were recently granted an Arts Council Young Ensembles Scheme award. The summer camp project, organised by Mairead Berrill, Matthew Berrill and Sorcha Walsh, is part of this larger plan to map and record the ‘passing on’ of musical and dramatic skills from generation to generation.
