A LIMERICK singer-songwriter is currently on a tour of Ireland's islands, entitled The Islands, with a plan to record a song on each leg of the journey, to amass eight songs, in eight venues, over eight weeks.
Anna's Anchor - aka Marty Ryan - is the musician undertaking that challenge, and as part of the tour, he plays Óstán Inis Óirr, The Aran Islands, on Saturday July 11 and Sunday 12; and the Inishbofin House Hotel on Saturday 18. Every Thursday, Marty will release a song that will have been recorded and engineered by Mike Gavin, of Limerick indie band Windings.
Anna’s Anchor has released the EP Oak Street (2014 ) and a split release, Crossing Channels, with Briton James Carroll. His sound mixes alternative rock, heartfelt lyrics, delayed guitars, and acoustic undertones.
