THE SECOND Sky Road TV & Film Festival returns to Connemara from October 9 to 11 and this week saw submissions open for the feature film and short film categories.
The festival, which will be held in the Station House Theatre, Clifden, aims to highlight the best of Irish film, television, and new media productions, and give Irish filmmakers an opportunity to screen their content at festival level. The organisers are interested in receiving submissions from those who have made a new documentary or have a film near completion.
The competition categories are Best Feature Film and Best Short Film (submissions now open ); Best Television Feature Documentary Best Documentary Series, and Best Television Short Documentary (submissions open June 22 ). Submissions for New Media open on June 26 and are for a one minute short shot and edited on mobile, and a three minute short shot and edited on mobile.
Submissions can be made to the festival up to August 28 through www.skyroadfilmfestival.ie/submit or [email protected]. There is an early bird entry fee of €10 plus booking fee.
The festival will run practical workshops in animation, cinematography, acting, and video editing. It is also looking for volunteers with a strong curiosity in film and who have an eagerness to help out and learn from the experience. For more information email [email protected].
