THE DEANS, the Galway roots-rock band with "an unmistakable sound" who are also "one of the most dynamic independent bands to look out for", according to music website GroundSounds, play the city this weekend.
The band - featuring the dynamic guitarist Gavin Dean (also vocals/keyboards/harmonica ), along with Ronan Lally (bass/vocals ), and Gari Keon (drums/vocals ) - play The Loft @ Seven this Saturday at 9pm.
The band has just released their new single 'Take It Easy' as a download. It follows previous releases 'Worried All the Time', 'Subterranean Wanderer', the EP Roomworks, Vol.1, and 'Lonely Like Me' which won the Unsigned Only competition in the United States, whose jury was Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Chrissie Hynde, and Black Francis.
The band have played across Ireland and France, and even at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and have enjoyed critical acclaim. Golden Plec said of the band's live shows: "That was liquid sex, from which we the audience all drank and were brought towards the orgasmic climax that freed us all from our minds for just a short while, all too short.
Tomorrow also sees the band launch its Crowdfunding campaign to finish its next EP Supply & Command, due for release in September.
