THE GALWAY International Arts Festival is encouraging people to volunteer with the festival. Volunteer co-ordinators Sheila Quinn and Cian McCarthy will do their utmost to match people’s preferences with their available time. Once people have joined up, the festival will have an informal 10-minute interview and an induction evening before starting. Volunteers will be able to work as Festival Ambassadors; invigilators in the Festival galleries; stewards in the Big Top, as part of on the street teams, etc.

THE GALWAY Film Fleadh, which runs from Tuesday July 7 to Sunday 12, is also seeking volunteers. Successful volunteer applicants will be asked to work in one of several areas: assisting with workshops and industry events; transportation; guest registration; publicity/marketing team; as part of a film crew; sales; tickets/ushering.
