FRIDAY JUNE 12 is Dia dos Namorados in Brazil, the Latin American nation's equivalent of Valentine’s Day, and to mark the occasion, Monroe’s Backstage Bar will host a night of Brazilian music and dance.
Matheus Levado and Jessica will give an introductory lesson in the sensual dance form of Forro, a typical Brazilian dance style which originated in the north-east of the country. It draws comparison from salsa, foxtrot, lambada, zouk, and even polka. Brazilian Band, who are based in Galway will be in concert and there will be a DJ set from Kev Vidal.
Doors are at 9pm. Tickets are €5 on the door.
