Advertiser Facebook page named as finalist in national social media awards

The Galway Advertiser Facebook page and its social media arm has been named as a finalist in the Irish Social Media awards the Sockies, to be held at a glittering ceremony in the RDS, Ballsbridge next week.

The event is the Oscars of the Irish social media industry and the finalists come from a wide range of Irish business and cultural life.

The Galway Advertiser has made the finals in two categories: Best Facebook Page for a Media Organisation where it will face competition from finalists such as RTE, Independent.ie, 98fm, Spin, the Irish Examiner, and RTE’s Sunday Game.  It has also made it to the final in the category of Best Social Media for a SME.
