GRUNGE BEGAN in Washington State in the 1980s, with bands like Green River - containing future members of Pearl Jam and Mudhoney - before going overground with Nirvana's Nevermind, and coming to an untimely end with Kurt Cobain's suicide in 1994.
For many in their teens and 20s at the time, Grunge remains a pivotal part of their growing up, while for many younger people, Nirvana and what that scene represented continues to inspire and fascinate. On Friday May 29 in Monroe's Live, Galway can relive the Grunge era when The Seattle Grunge Experience - a tribute band to an era - take to the stage.
The Seattle Grunge Experience play the music and recreate the sound of the four biggest Grunge bands - Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and of course Nirvana. The band are Dave Horan (vocals ), Ger Ennis (guitar ), Shane Counter (guitar ), Mike Galorport (drums ), and Keith Murdock (bass ).
Doors are at 9.30pm. Tickets are €10/6 through www.monroes.ie
