The Nepal earthquakes have left more than 7,000 people dead, while tens of thousands have been left severely injured, homeless, or both, prompting Galway's Indian community to orgaise a charity fundraising event this Sunday.
The Galway Indian Community will host the Shaam Ki Chai (Evening Tea ) fundraiser in the Koncknacarra Community Hall, above Joyce's Supermarket, from 3pm, and the event is open to all members of the public to attend and support. There will be games, fun activities, raffles, prizes, Indian Masala tea, and light snacks.
The amount raised on the day will be matched equally by the GIC (up to €400 ), with the full donation being given to the Nepal PM Disaster Fund, Embassy of Nepal, London.
