Ruth Fahy was named Player of the Year at the annual Galway WFC awards night held in Claregalway.
Fahy joined other award winners, Shauna Fox, Young Player of the Year, and Most Improved Player Megan Kelleher, at the evening attended by special guests Taylors Hill Secondary School senior soccer team,
The team was presented with a Galway Crystal Plate to recognise its achievement of winning back to back All Ireland Senior Schools titles.
Kieran O'Mahoney, co-founder of Galway WFC, has been named as the club’s first president in recognition of his support for women’s soccer in Galway over the last 16 years,
It was also announced that Advance Pitstop is to become a sponsor for the coming season.
