A fundraising ball is being held in Galway tomorrow night (Friday ) to help meet the costs of ensuring young Grace Kenneally gets vital life saving treatment
Grace Kenneally is nine years old and from Tirellan Heights in Galway. She is currently being treated in Crumlin Children’s hospital and is recovering from a Stem Cell Transplant. Grace has been fighting Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive children’s cancer since she was just five years old and this is the third time she is fighting this terrible disease. Grace has a four per cent chance of survival if she remains in Ireland for treatment. Treatments available in the US are believed to offer up to 80 per cent survival rates.
Once Grace is in remission, she will need to travel to the US for further treatment, to prevent the cancer coming back yet again. The Saving Grace Trust was set up last July to raise funds for Grace to get this much needed treatment and many events have taken place across Galway, Ireland, and even internationally for Grace.
To help fund this, the Saving Grace Gala dinner on May 8, in the Clayton Hotel for a night of dinner and dancing. The night starts with a delicious four course meal with dancing to the band Love Shack and continues late into the night with a DJ. Impressionist Shane Cunningham who will also make an appearance on the night to add to the fun and frolics!
