Cura Galway to hold an information evening in Carraroe

Cura Galway will host an information evening in Bia Blasta Cafe, Carraroe, next Tuesday April 28 from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

The event is an opportunity to raise awareness about the services being offered by Cura. People in the local community are being encouraged to go along and to find out more about the work being carried out by the organisation

Cura provides a range of support and counselling services for anyone dealing with a crisis or unplanned pregnancy or an abortion. There is also a service available for the parents of new babies.

Cura operates an outreach centre in Carraroe Health Centre, which is available on the last Tuesday of every month from 2pm-4pm.

All services are available free of charge to both men and women, and to family members and friends.

A woman is directly affected by a crisis pregnancy but there are many others who can also be affected by the situation. This could be a partner who is dealing with the fact he is becoming a father, a friend who has been informed of the pregnancy and is unaware of where to turn, or parents or other relatives of the pregnant woman.

Charlotte Keary of Cura says a crisis pregnancy can occur at any age.

There is also a service available for parents of new-borns, as there are many new parents out there who need some extra support in those early weeks and months.

Cura Galway is located in Árus de Brun, Newtownsmith, 091 562 558, www.cura.ie or find the organisation on Facebook at www.facebook.com/curacares
