Sheridan’s Cheesemonger’s Brown Bread Crackers have been included in the M&S range of branded artisan products in more than 400 M&S stores in Britain and Ireland.
Sheridan’s, along with artisan baker Richard Graham Leigh, has been producing the crackers since 2012. Last year Marks and Spencer set about sourcing a select range of artisan products from across Ireland and Britain, and selected Sheridan’s Brown Bread Crackers to be part of the branded artisan foods range.
Seamus Sheridan says this is an exciting development for Galway company, which started in 1995 as a farmhouse cheese stall in the Galway Market.
“M&S have never sold outside of their own label, which is why this is massive for us,” Mr Sheridan told the Galway Advertiser. “It’s very difficult for small, independent, companies to get distribution with such companies. For us to be one of those 20 products selected for the artisan range is incredible.”
“We’re thrilled to get this recognition from the team at M&S and be included in its branded artisan product range,” said Kevin Sheridan. “Provenance and heritage have always been a key feature of the foods we have sold over the years, as well as in those we have created in more recent years.”
Founded by brothers Kevin and Seamus Sheridan, Sheridan’s Cheesemongers has shops in Dublin, Galway, Waterford, and Meath. It supplies numerous specialist restaurants and shops with a range of carefully selected artisan foods.
The company also works in partnership with suppliers, protecting and encouraging Irish food heritage and sustainability, as well as creativity in artisan production. Sheridan’s also exports around the world including the USA, Australia, and the European continent.
