DELORENTOS CONTINUE their ascent as one of Ireland’s finest, and most popular, bands with a ‘Róisín Dubh presents...’ show at Seapoint Ballroom, Salthill, this Saturday at 8pm.
The band are riding the crest of a wave since their fifth album, Night Becomes Light, was released late last year. It reached the Top 5 in Ireland and was described by the Irish Independent as “a sumptuous collection that demonstrates Delorentos’ eclectic styles and influences”. There was also praise from The Irish Times, which declared it “a fertile, romantically driven concept album with a defined narrative arc that states, often elegantly, that home is where the heart and hearth is”. The album was the follow-up to the excellent Little Sparks, which deservedly won the 2012 Choice Music Prize. It has also expanded Delorentos reach onto the Continent, as evidenced by recent appearances on Spanish TV and radio:
2015 has already seen the Dublin quartet release the single, ‘Forget The Numbers’. Inspired by classic soul music and modern electro, it is a call not be ground down by the 9 to 5 routine - the world of numbers, technology and work - and instead make time to reconnect with the world outside.
