Reinventing the heroines of Irish myth

DRAWING INSPIRATION from the great Irish epic, the Táin Bo Cuailgne, Women In Arms is a show about Irish myths from the point of view of the women involved.

Women In Arms by Mary Elizabeth Burke Kennedy, will be staged in the Nuns Island Theatre from Tuesday April 21 to Saturday 25 at 8pm. It examines the women in Irish folklore - Nessa, Macha, Deirdre and Queen Maeve - inviting audiences to re-imagine the founding myths and landscapes of Irish identity. The show is part of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature. It is poresented by the Galway Arts Centre and NUI Galway’s Centre For Drama, Theatre, and Performance.
