A public engagement campaign is under way as Galway bids to win the European Capital of Culture 2020 designation and the fifth Speak Out information event will take place on the Aran Islands.
The bid team will visit Inis Mór tomorrow at 1pm and Inis Oírr on Friday at 2pm. These events are part of a comprehensive public engagement programme taking place throughout Galway over the coming months.
All citizens from the Aran Islands, as well as from all sectors, are welcome to share ideas and visions on how to build a better Galway and people can speak for three minutes sharing projects on how to re-imagine Galway’s future in 2020 and beyond, or just go along to hear more about Galway’s bid.
The previous Speak Out events in Ard Bia Restaurant, Galway Arts Centre, Clifden Station House Hotel, and the Róisín Dubh drew large crowds of people eager to learn more about Galway’s bid and how they can get involved and contribute to it.
The Galway 2020 team have embarked on both a city and county-wide public engagement Speak Out campaign and Galway’s bid document must be submitted to the European Commission on October 17 2015.
