Daithí Burke to concentrate on county hurling

Corofin's All-Ireland club football winning midfielder Daithí Burke will not be available to the county football squad this season as he is going to focus his inter-county aspirations totally with Anthony Cunningham's hurlers over the coming months.

Burke, a talented player in both codes, won an u-21 football All-Ireland at centre back in 2013 and he has also played senior intercounty championship football in the past year.

While many GAA supporters within the county would like to see the Turloughmore youngster go down the dual role with Galway, his first love is hurling, and it is no real surprise he has opted to commit totally to that code.

He is, however, expected to be available for the Corofin footballers this summer as they aim to complete a hat-trick of county titles for the first time in the club's history.
