Mná Moycullen is a group of over 40 women in the Moycullen area who own and run their own businesses. Each year, the group hosts a fun walk/run in aid of a different charity and this year the Hand in Hand children’s cancer charity will benefit from the proceeds of the annual event.
Hand in Hand is a Galway based organisation that supports families who are affected by childhood cancer. The charity provides practical support such as child care, domestic cleaning services and meals. Services are driven by user needs identified through feedback from affected families, and aim to continually adapt to the needs of the family.
The focus of Hand in Hand is to give children and their families support at home, in order to minimise the impact that both the diagnosis and frequent long distance travel for treatment has on family life.
The fun walk will begin at 2pm at the Moycullen pitch on Sunday April 19. Registration is on the day and starts at 1pm. Men, women and children are all encouraged to dress up and walk or run, in what promises to be a great day out. A registration fee of €15 for adults and €10 for students and pensioners, will go towards Hand in Hand. Children can partake for free.
For those unable to join in on the day a donation can be made online at www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/63795
