Award winning songwriter Jenn Grant to play Galway

Woman behind 'Heartland' theme song comes to Róisín Dubh

JUNO NOMINATED singer-songwriter Jenn Grant will begin her Irish tour with a show upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on tomorrow night from 9pm. Her set is liekly to be dominated by songs from her new album Compostela, which was released last week.

Compostela has already received great praise in Jenn’s native Canada, where it was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the recent JUNO Awards (the Canadian Grammys ). Jenn was also nominated for Songwriter of the Year. It also features contributions from Ron Sexsmith, Buck65, and Rachel Sermanni.

Jenn has played Ireland on a number of occasions and many will be familiar with her music through its use on the soundtracks of Greys Anatomy and Being Human, and esepcially ‘Dreamer’, the theme tune to hit US show Heartland. 

Jenn has also received much critical acclaim throughout her career. The Sydney Morning Herald said her “dreamy, harp-and woodwinds folk is the work of a painter born in paradise”, while the Music Nerd website said Compostela “will undoubtedly prove to be one of the best records to emerge from Atlantic Canada this year”. She was also listed in the TOP 10 Must See Female Artists SXSW 2015.
