Jinx Lennon @ Monroe’s Live

“FOR ME the best songwriter in the country at the moment is Jinx Lennon.” This verdict was delivered by no less a man than Christy Moore.

Jinx Lennon, the agit-prop folk/punk singer-songwriter and performance poet, makes a welcome return to Galway to play Monroe’s Live on Sunday April 12 at 8pm.

Among the songs he will perform is ‘Water Meter Man’, which Jinx describes as “a clarion call for all those who’ve finally found a nationwide cause to rally round. I firmly believe that protest in Ireland is definitely rearing it’s head again in a positive light.”

He delivers his firebrand commentaries on modern society in an idiosyncratic rap like vocal style, layered over acoustic guitar and lo-fi electro noise. Hhe has performed at Electric Picnic and composed the soundtrack to the movie’ The Ballad of Honky McSwain written by Pat McCabe.
