Sean Keane to play Croí charity concert

THE GREAT Seán Keane will play Heartbreak Hotel, a charity concert in aid of Croí, in Monroe’s Live on Thursday April 16, which will also feature performances form a host of well known Galway and Irish performers.

Seán, who is from Caherlistrane, is one of the most admired and popular singers in Ireland, his reputation built on a number of excellent albums such as No Stranger and The Man That I Am.

Also playing will be Ciaran Rosney, whose single ‘Willies Shoes’ was CRC FM’s ‘Single of the Year’ in 2014. He is currently working on the follow-up to his debut album Country At Heart. It is due for release in October.

The line-up is completed by Athenry’s The Goldiggers whose music mixes bluegrass and Americana harmonies; Carmel Dempsey, who has toured with De Danann and The Dolores Keane Band; Simon Casey, Elvis tribute act Larry Brogan, Martina Flaherty, Brenda Curtain, Pete Gilroy, Paul Gaughan, Enda Dempsey, Miki Belton, Muriel O’Connell, Keith McDonald, and members of The Conquerors.

The former mayor of Galway John Mulholland is the MC. Doors are at 8.30pm. Tickets are €15/12 through www.monroes.ie
