A June deadline has been announced for submissions to operate the air service to and from the Aran Islands. The contract is valued at €3.68 million and will run for four years.
The tender contract for air service to and from the Aran Islands was published on Tuesday by the Office of Government Procurement on behalf of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. The deadline is 12 noon on June 8.
Fine Gael Galway West TD Seán Kyne has welcomed the publication of the tender, saying its two year duration will “will provide certainty for the Island communities”.
“The air service is vital for connecting the islands with the mainland,” he said, “and plays an important role in a number of ways including business, tourism, and health services.”
