Now city diners can savour the Péarla na Mara experience

In July 2011, a dream came through – Péarla na Mara, a cosy café-restaurant in the heart of Oranmore village, opened its door for its first customers. Today, nearly four years later, it has become one of the favourite spots on Oranmore's dining scene and has been recognised by several industry awards, including a recommendation in Georgina Campbell's guide for the last three years and several TripAdvisor® Certificates of Excellence.

‘Our formula is simple: commitment to quality and consistence’ – reveals the owner and head chef Kamel Ourdache. – ‘We want to showcase the best of Western foodstuffs without overcomplicating the cooking! Fresh, unpretentious, wholesome food cooked from scratch to order using finest, locally sourced ingredients and simple Mediterranean seasoning.

“We now want to bring the same Mediterranean sunshine to the City of Tribes and are very excited about our newest project: a brasserie-style restaurant opening soon just off Dominick Street in the West End. The new restaurant will provide a completely sophisticated, sensual, yet casual dining experience for the many Galwegians and visitors who frequent the city's casual dining spots and entertainment venues.’

‘We opened our Oranmore premises in the middle of very difficult times and we had to find a winning, recession-proof formula’ – adds Justyna Kocjan, co-owner. – “All the team has worked very hard to achieve that and we will be eternally grateful to our employees and the customers for their unfailing support.

“Having established the business in Oranmore, we now feel that this is the right time to expand and bring our ideas to a new level. Galway is such a fantastic, unique, lively city! We want to be a part of it.’

The new restaurant will be located off Dominick Street, which is now the cornerstone of fine dining within the city centre, on the corner of Fairhill Road Upper and Father Burke Lane (next to Monroes ).

The opening of this new venture, featuring 60 seats with a suitable area created for private functions, is planned for April 2015.
