THE RUBBERBANDITS are back and are bringing their new ‘musical’, Continental Fistfight, in the Town Hall Theatre on Sunday May 3,, where it promises to feature new songs, the hits, and at least one celebrity puppet.
The plastic bag wearing duo of Blindboy Boat Club and Mr Chrome, supported by Willie O’DJ, have already staged the show in Britain, at London’s Soho Theatre and the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Metro called it “an exhilarating night out”, while The Guardian praised its “dissenting and provocative humour”.
The bandits also notched up a first, as, by special request of Dominic Dromgoole, artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe, Continental Fistfight played in the inaugural season of the Globe’s new, Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, making it the first comedy show to play at the Globe.
Continental Fistfight is coming to Ireland through Róisín Dubh Comedy, in association with David Johnson, John Mackay, and Soho Theatre. Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
