SHE HAS won a British Comedy Award, stormed Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News, Sunday Night at the Palladium, and made a BAFTA nominated film - all without moving her lips.
She is Nina Conti, the brilliant British comedian, ventriloquist, and puppeteer, called “uproariously hilarious by The Scotsman, “a gem” by The Guardian, and declared “a genius” by the Mirror. She is also bringing her new show, In Your Face, to the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday October 24.
Nina is best known for her ventriloquist act with the puppet Monkey, who is often down in the dumps and who Nina must try to make happy, but along the way, Monkey can always be relied upon to say something outrageous.
For In Your Face, Nina is taking a more improvisational approach, where each night, she and monkey will pluck inspiration from the audience and Nina will don an array of masks for a show where anything can happen. Tickets are €28 and go on sale on Friday March 27 and will be available from the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ); the Róisín Dubh (www.roisindubh.net ), and OMG @ Zhivago, Shop Street (091 - 509960 ).
