Joshua Radin - you know his music

American singer-songwriter to play Róisín Dubh next month

HIS NAME may not be the most familiar, but if you have ever watched hit TV shows such as House, Grey’s Anatomy, Cougar Town, One Tree Hill, and 90210, you have heard the music of Ohio-born, New York based singer-songwriter Joshua Radin.

Galway will have a chance to hear songs like ‘You Got What I Need’, ‘The Fear You Won’t Fall’, ‘Brand New Day’, ‘One More’, and ‘Underwater’, as well as songs from his new album Onwards and Sideways, which includes the song ‘Beautiful Day’, when he plays the Róisín Dubh on Sunday April 19 at 9pm.

Onwards and Sideways was written in Stockholm, during a period when Radin had actually planned to take a break from music, in order to do some romantic wooing. He eventually found that the music helped in this aim.

“I had met this woman six years ago and we were friends for the last five, but we started dating a year ago,” he says. “At first it was long distance - she was living in Stockholm and I was living in Los Angeles - and she was very wary of getting involved. Essentially I wrote this album to convince her to fall in love with me. The motivation was really that when she came home from work, I wanted to have a song to play to her.”

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
