Galway travel to league leaders Monaghan for their next Tesco Homegrown division one league encounter in confident form.
Kevin Reidy’s side are just two points off Monaghan and Cork after their 3-12 to 2-9 victory over Kerry at Tuam Stadium on Sunday.
After trading early points, Galway produced two goals from which Kerry never recovered.
Roisin Leonard scored the opening goal in a move that started in the fullback line with Ger Conneally, passing through Olivia Divilly and Louise Ward before Corofin’s Leonard finished to the net.
Another Corofin player rattled the Kerry net two minutes later when the ball came back off the upright and Patrica Gleeson pounced to score.
Gleeson, Tracey Leonard, Conneally Barbara Hannon, and Ward all added to the tally for a 2-9 to 0-5 half-time lead.
Despite changes to the Kerry forward line, Galway continued to have a stranglehold, and the third goal came courtesy of Edel Concannon as Galway saw out the game comfortably.
