‘BEGORRAH’ IS the ultimate stage Oirish cliché, but Foil Arms & Hog are reclaiming the word for great modern Irish comedy and as the title of their latest tour.
Foil Arms & Hog make a welcome return to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday at 8.30pm as part of the Begorrah tour that has been winning critical acclaim.
The Irish Examiner said it “offers hilarious sketches along with musical interludes for your delight and entertainment. Unless you’re clinically immune to laughter, you will indeed be delighted and entertained”.
On the night, audiences will find out what happens at an ‘Irish Intervention’ for a boy who ‘doesn’t drink’; witness the self indulgent ‘La Bullshat’ theatre group; and finally be given an answer to the question of what happens when a Mime class gets violent.
Foil Arms & Hog can count Tommy Tiernan and Rowan Atkinson among their fans; they have enjoyed more than four million hits on Youtube; performed on BBC Radio 4; and played London, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Adelaide.
Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
