The Connacht Property Auction is now taking entries for its next public auction which will be held on April 23 in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway.
The auction group’s first auction in 2015 took place on February 26, offering 24 properties in total. Of the properties which went under the hammer, there were seven Galway properties on offer, nine properties in Mayo, two each in counties Sligo and Clare, and one property each in Leitrim and Roscommon. With properties spread across the province and into Clare, the auction team noted there was significant interest in the lead up to the auction. Eighty eight per cent of the properties offered were sold at auction.
Another significant development was the increased interest from Irish people based in the UK looking to buy in Ireland. Patrick Folan from The Connacht Property Auction said: “With the strength of the sterling at present, we have seen a noticeable uplift in enquiries from the UK. We advertise heavily in both Ireland and the UK and we are finding more and more UK based buyers are looking to purchase with us.”
The Connacht Property Auction is now inviting property owners who are looking to sell their property without any upfront costs to contact the auction team. Before any property comes to the market, the auction team will agree a minimum reserve figure, giving the property owner total control over the minimum walkaway figure. Bidding can also continue past the reserve price until the highest bidder has secured the property.
“Through working with our partner agents and the extensive marketing campaign we undertake locally, nationally, and internationally, we are agreeing successful sales for the vast majority of properties on offer,” Mr Folan added. “Last year The Connacht Property Auction averaged 87 per cent sold in the public auctions held, and based on our first auction this year, we hope to have similar success in 2015.”
The Connacht Property Auction is currently working with more than 40 established auctioneers, which provides for both a strong local effort along with the wider reach of the auction company. These auctioneers include Gerry Mullins (Headford ), Maureen McKeown (Salthill ), Matt O’Sullivan (Clifden ), Spencer auctioneers (Oughterard ), DNG Lyons Bracken (Athenry ), Michael Ryder (Tuam ), Keane Mahony Smith (Galway city ), Paddy Keane (Ballinasloe ), and Keary auctioneers (Loughrea ).
The next public auction will take place on April 23 in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway. Registration starts at 6.30pm.
