Meetings of Galway City Council could shortly be streamed live on the Council website.
Councillors called for the idea to be investigated at this week's meeting after Cllr Billy Cameron said that minutes often do not carry a true reflection of a meetings' contributions.
Acting Chief Executive Joe O Neill stated that the minutes merely recorded decisions taken and could not be an exact record of everything that was said.
The matter will now be referred to the Council’s Procedures Committee.
Councillor Peter Keane says the move would offer the public a truer idea of what happens during Council meetings.
