THE JIG JAMS, whose music fuses Irish folk with Bluegrass, are coming to Galway to play Monroe’s BackStage Bar on Saturday March 14 at 9pm.
The Offaly band - Jamie McKeogh (guitar, banjo, lead vocals ), Daithí Melia (banjo, vocals ), and Cathal Guinan (double bass, fiddle, vocals ) - have won acclaim for their energy-fuelled musicianship and their debut album Oh Boy! We Banjo 3’s Enda Scahill called it “a scintillating debut album from a great bunch of young guys. JigJam are a terrific live act”. Irish Music Magazine called them “as close to authentic as you can get without having been raised on grits and fried squirrel”.
