Killeeneen N.S. is running a ‘Who wants to be a Thousandaire’ tomorrow night in the Lough Rea Hotel to raise funds for the building of a GP room (school hall ) and provide a facility that will benefit both the children and the local community.
Siobhán Gohery, Acting Principal, said that the GP room was built in 1998 for 109 children.
“Today our school has 230 children and is increasing in numbers all the time, so we need a GP room that can facilitate school events such as assemblies, school concerts, meetings and, most importantly, sufficient space for PE, particularly in wet weather.
“Encouraging a healthy lifestyle from a young age has always been a priority in Killeeneen N.S. and a new GP room would give the children, and potentially the wider local community, a space that could accommodate more health and sports related activities,” added Ms Gohery.
They are asking locals and quiz afficionados to come along to the event tomorrow night for a great evening of fun and games.
