Tips aplenty at annual Cheltenham preview night

Galway is gearing up for the Cheltenham Festival with its annual preview night in aid of charity.

Ahead of the four day festival, John Mulholland Bookmakers, the Racing Post, and NUIG Horse Racing Society are hosting the annual Cheltenham Preview Night on the Monday March 2 in the Salthill Hotel, Galway.

This is the 15th year of the preview night which aims to raise money for Direct Aid for Africa. DAFA’s founder is the legendary Barney Curley, who last year stung the bookies for millions when four horses won on the same day and were placed in multiple bets across the UK and Ireland.

As well as raising money for charity, the night provides tips to all the punters, and last year’s Gold Cup winner Davy Russell will be there to give his views, alongside his former employer from Gigginstown racing, Eddie O’Leary, who will also share updates on how Michael O ‘Leary’s horses are preparing.

Irish champion amateur jockey Patrick Mullins, son of Willie Mullins, will also be in attendance to tell all how superstars Faugheen, Hurricane Fly and Un De Sceaux are gearing up.

The night promises plenty of craic, top tips, and is a must visit for any keen racing punter.

Television and radio presenter Hector Ó hEochagáin will help the audience get into the mood.

Tickets cost €20, which include a €10 free bet and a Racing Post goody bag. All money raised goes directly to the charity.
