Youth to celebrate Yeats in south Galway

THIRTY YOUNG harpists from the Athenry Music School and 15 students of Kiltartan National School will join forces for an event to celebrate WB Yeats.

The event takes place in Kiltartan Church, south Galway at 7.30pm on Thursday March 5 and is part of a series of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of the poet’s birth. Galway based poet, actor, and singer-songwriter Pete Mullineaux will read from his poems, accompanied by Clair Egan (violin ) and Eoin O’Neill (accordion ). Actor and playwright Gerry Conneely will read a selection of Yeats’ poems.

Admission is free but places are limited. Contributions to Yeats Galway 2015 celebrations gratefully accepted. The event is hosted by The Lady Gregory Yeats Trail and supported by the Galway County Council arts office.
