AL PORTER, “Ireland’s ascendant king of camp” according to the Irish Independent, and for David McSavage, “one of the few comedians that actually makes me laugh”, is coming to Galway.
A genuinely exciting new comedy talent, who put in a show stealing performance at the launch of the 2014 Comedy Carnival Galway, the Dubliner is bringing his show Is Yours to the Róisín Dubh this Saturday at 8.30pm. The show will be a playful and irreverent mix of stand-up, sketch, and song, through which Al will deliver a modern take on the old school light entertainment of yesteryear.
Over the last year Al has appeared on The Savage Eye, Callan’s Kicks, and Republic of Telly. He has also earned the respect and admiration of his peers. Jason Byrne calls him “bleedin’ gas”, while PJ Gallagher describes him as “Hilarious! One of the nicest, funniest lads around.”
The special guests are Karl Spain and Totally Wired. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
