Michigan choir’s Galway charity concert

THE SKYLINE High School Choir from Ann Arbor, Michigan, will give a concert in St Nicholas Collegiate Church this Saturday at 1pm to raise funds for Jigsaw.

The 50-strong choir will perform Americana, spirituals, Irish folk, and jazz. The concert is part of an eight-day Irish tour, the choir’s first tour overseas. “We are delighted to be supporting Jigsaw with our concert,” said Cie Chanski, Skyline choir director. “Many of our young people are under huge pressure this days , singing is just one of the best ways of helping to relieve stress.”

Although admission is free, there is a suggested donation of €5 to go to Jigsaw, a charity which supports those aged between 15 and 21 in Galway city and county who are experiencing mental health difficulties. See www.jigsaw.ie
