Farmers who established holdings between 2008 and 2010, but who did not benefit from Installation Aid after it was discontinued, can now access National Reserve entitlements.
The decision by the Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney to extend the period from 2010 back to 2008 has been called “a common sense measure” and “just recognition” for work and investment of many farmers, according to Fine Gael Galway East TD Paul Connaughton.
The situation had been that young farmers who wanted access to additional entitlements would lose out on accessing entitlements, if their holdings had been established after 2008 and before the reference period of 2010,
