A quiz will take place tomorrow Friday February 20 to help fund a Galway dancer’s trip to compete in the World Championships for Irish dancing.
Ten-year-old Colin Mathews from Clostoken, Loughrea, is a fourth class pupil at Carrabane National School. He wil travel to Montreal, Canada, next month to compete in the World Championships. The boy is a member of the Stephanie Power school of Irish Dance and is also a member of a dance group called Powerforce who have appeared on Tg4 show An Jig gig. Dance teacher Stephanie Power is herself a three times world champion.
The Power School of Irish Dance is organising the table quiz which will take place at 8pm in the Meadow Court Hotel, Loughrea. A table of four costs €40. There will be a large number of spot prizes on the night while Colin Mathews will entertain the crowd at the interval. There will also be a special performance from Stephanie Power with sequences of dancing from the world famous Riverdance show.
